A: A: It is permissible to crop illustrations and remove or suppress the labels or leader lines. But you are not permitted to make changes, modifications, or alterations to the artwork itself, including the Netter Signature. For example, you may not have an artist "draw in" a break in a bone, a tear in a muscle, or a medical device such as a surgical scalpel to depict a medical condition without express written permission from Elsevier
